Detroit Pistons Join NBA’s Longest Losing Streaks, Nets Secure Victory

The Detroit Pistons found themselves in the record books, sharing the NBA’s longest single-season losing streak with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2010-11) and the Philadelphia 76ers (2013-14). Despite the challenging season, Pistons coach Monty Williams commended his team’s resilience and determination to battle each night.

Facing the Brooklyn Nets, the Pistons narrowed the gap to two points in the third quarter before the Nets surged ahead, securing a 98-82 lead. Mikal Bridges led the Nets with an impressive performance, contributing 29 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Jaden Ivey led the Pistons with 23 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

While the Pistons now share a challenging record, Coach Williams emphasized the team’s continuous effort to break the losing streak. The all-time longest losing streak in NBA history remains at 28 games, held by the Sixers across the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.

In other NBA action, LeBron James showcased his prowess, scoring 40 points and leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 129-120 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic delivered his sixth triple-double of the season, posting 39 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Dallas Mavericks dominated the San Antonio Spurs 144-119. The Spurs notably missed the presence of French star Victor Wembanyama in the matchup.

As the Pistons navigate their challenging season, other NBA teams continue to showcase their strengths and star players, making every game a dynamic and compelling spectacle for basketball enthusiasts.
