Sean O’Malley knocked down Aljamain Sterling to claim bantamweight title. Merab Dvalishvili called it an early stoppage.

At UFC 292, Aljamain Sterling entered “The Suga Show” as he hit the canvas in the second round of the fight when he was punched by Sean O’Malley to become the new UFC bantamweight champion of the world. Sean O’Malley had been an underdog as the majority of the fans were expecting that it would be easy for a guy like Aljo, who has secured the title three times, to beat Sean O’Malley, but “the Suga” proved everyone wrong with his precision skills and landed a perfect right hand on Aljo’s chin, followed by ground and pound, that led Refree Mark Goddard to stop the fight.
Aljo’s fans and his team mate Merab Dvalishvili called it an early stoppage otherwise the results would be in favor of Aljamain Sterling. Some even accused UFC of manipulating the rematch to do that so that Suga can win the bantamweight title, but Aljamain so far hasn’t supported the claims made by his team mates or fans and accepted the defeat like a fighter. He successfully defended his title against Henry Cejudo at UFC 288 but this time it was Suga who overpowered him at Boston, where UFC 292 happened.
Former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier congratulated Sean O’Malley for his exceptional win and praised Aljamain for being a fighter who accepted the defeat like a man. Daniel Cormier didn’t back down from comparing Suga with one of the greatest MMA fighters, Conor McGregor, who also knocked down Jose Aldo in a similar fashion to claim the featherweight title and called Sean an absolute superstar.
Sean O’Malley revealed who he is going to fight next by naming Marlon Vera, who is the only one so far in the UFC to defeat him, and Marlon Vera accepted the invitation by saying this on his Twitter handle.
“Send me contact ok”
Marlon Vera
