UFC TUF 31: Bloodbath semifinal ended in Brad Katona’s favor by a split decision.

The Ultimate Fighter 31 is nearing its end and the fight fans saw the first semi-final, which was undoubtedly one of the bloodiest fights of the tournament. The bantamweight semi-final between Timur Valiev and Brad Katona was an entertaining one. Both fighters initially represented Team Chandler, but Brad Katona recently joined Conor McGregor’s camp, leaving Iron Mike’s camp. Brad Katona, who is also from the SBG gym in Ireland and has been training with Conor for the last five years, fought against Chandler’s Timur Valiev to scale up to win the show for the second time and become the first MMA fighter to do that.
Brad Katona earlier fought in the featherweight division at TUF 27 and won the show for the first time. Now he is fighting in the bantamweight division. Katona won the semi-final fight with a split decision after three bloody rounds against Timur Valiev. Both fighters threw bombs at each other, which left cuts on their heads, drenching them in their own blood. Even UFC president Dana White was impressed with the fight and praised both fighters. Conor McGregor congratulated Brad Katona post-fight for standing and fighting in the cage for three rounds despite getting opened up in the very first round.
Michael Chandler didn’t look happy with the judges. He didn’t hide his feelings from the fans and tweeted on his Twitter account questioning the judges decision, and it didn’t take long for the supporters of the Iron Mike to support his stand and even question the integrity of the judges as some claimed that they are biased against Russian MMA fighters, and that is the reason behind Katona’s winning in the semi-finals. As of now, Brad Katona is waiting for his opponent in the final of the TUF 31, and the winner of Rico DiSciullo vs Cody Gibson will be fighting him in the final.
