Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan, after winning the toss, keeping the due factor in mind, decided to bowl first, and Bangladesh’s bowler Shoriful Islam taking the wicket in the first over proved the decision. Right after that, Sri Lanka lost two more wickets under 100 runs, but Charith Asalanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama showed resilience, though he couldn’t take his score to a big one and got out on 41. Bangladesh’s innings weren’t even good, as they lost their first wicket when they were on just 17 runs. After that, two left-handers of the Bangladesh team, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan, built the partnership that required both players to score their fifties, and Bangladesh was looking good to win the match, but both of them got dismissed by Angelo Mathews. Though Bangladesh were marching towards victory, some twist was provided by Sri Lanka’s bowlers after taking some quick wickets.
