Boarder-Gavaskar Trophy is notably one of the greatest Test series in World Cricket, and in the last decade, it became more interesting after India won back-to-back series in Australia against them.
The series is named after two legendary cricketers of India and Australia (Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Boarder) in 1996-97 years, and till now, 16 trophy series have been played between each other.
Team India is leading the race for titles as they already have 10 titles under their name, while Australia has only 5. One series was a draw, but others were the greatest series, in which most of every team’s main players stepped up and gave amazing performances.

Australia won the first-ever series in India due to a great performance by Damien Martyn’s batting and Anil Kumble’s bowling standing out. It was the only series where Australia won in India during the Trophy’s early years.

It has been the fairy tale for many players when no one gave them a chance in the series after getting all out on 36 in the first test. The way they came back was just still the best-ever test series.

India continued their dominance with another series win at home. R. Ashwin’s mastery of the ball and Usman Khawaja’s consistent run-scoring were the standout performances.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy remains one of the most fiercely contested series in Test cricket. It showcases the talents and tenacity of both teams. It’s a saga of epic battles, resilience, and unforgettable moments that continue to captivate cricket fans worldwide.
The 2024-25 Boarder-Gavaskar will start on November 22, 2024, at the Perth Stadium. Before the series starts, India has already lost the first-ever test series at home in the last 14 years.
