IPL 2024 7th Match CSK vs GT: “There’s Confusion” Deepak Chahar On CSK’s Captaincy Change
Chennai Super Kings thrashed Gujarat Titans last night to register their second victory in the IPL 2024. CSK showed an all-round game to defeat Shubman Gill and Co. in the 7th match of the IPL 2024 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Chennai’s bowler Deepak Chahar picked up two wickets in his spell. One of them was the opposition’s skipper, Shubman Gill, giving early shocks to the opposition. Gujarat Titans failed to recover and scored 143/8 in 20 overs, losing the match by 63 runs. Apart from the CSK’s win, the moment that caught the attention of the fans and the commentators was the on-field discussions of the newly crowned captain of the CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad, with M.S. Dhoni about the field change.
It was evident that MS Dhoni was setting the field, and the exact moment was spotted during the IPL 2024 opening match against RCB. To get clarification on who is actually leading the team during the field, ex-India star batter and now an expert Sunil Gavaskar asked Deepak Chahar during the post-match interview the same to which the bowler honestly replied that he looks towards both(MS Dhoni and Ruturak Gaikwad) to get the instructions.
“I got to look at Mahi (MSD) bhai and at Ruturaj – both of them these days for field placements and all. So there is a bit of a confusion where to look now but Ruturaj is doing well and he is leading the way.”

Deepak Chahar lauds the new captain’s caliber and leadership qualities by saying Ruturaj is “leading the team well.” On introducing new bowling rules in the IPL 2024, he said that the two bouncers rule would give bowlers some relief as earlier, there was nothing in their favor as far as the T20 cricket is concerned.
There is nothing for the bowlers in T20 cricket. It is good to allow the bowlers to bowl to bouncers. We can use it in the middle and death overs to push the batter back and then take wickets,
