England vs South Africa Match Prediction, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Team Preview, Pitch Report, and Playing 11

England vs South Africa will be the 20th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on October 21, 2023.
It is going to be the match between two wounded Lions who lost their last match against an underdog team and will be going all out to show the world cricket why they are considered the top team in cricket.
The defending champions, England, lost their last match against Afghanistan by a huge margin of 69, which really showed them that in the World Cup, you never take someone lightly because they decided not to let Ben Stokes play as they thought their batting lineup was up to the mark to smash down the Afghanistan bowling unit but that backfired them and which is why Jos Buttler the captain of England was disappointed by their play.
Disappointing to win the toss and concede that many, me missing that first ball down the leg side set the tone. Credit to Afghanistan, they outplayed us today. It came down to execution, we weren’t quite at the level we’d like to be with both bat and ball. They have some fantastic bowlers, the dew didn’t come in as much as we expected, the ball held up a bit too.
They bowled dead straight and kept the stumps in play, we just weren’t quite good enough. You got to let these defeats hurt, there’s no point in getting over things too quickly, we need to reflect. There’s a lot of character in this group, we need to show a lot of resilience and come back stronger. We need to have guys being able to perform under pressure and that’s what all of us will be working hard towards.
Jos Buttler said in the post match presentation
South Africa was sensational in the tournament till they faced the Netherlands in the last match, in which they suffered a loss by 38 runs that opened up the points table for every team now and gave them a deep wound in their World Cup journey.
It will be an amazing match between two top sides who will be hungry to get 2 points, or else they will face a tough challenge in qualifying for the semi-finals. It is tough to say who has the upper in the match because both teams are balanced. Before the World Cup, it was England who would be the favorite to win the match, but the way South Africa played in the first two matches made them equal in the World Cup.

Team Preview Of England
England’s batting unit needs to improve themselves after a collapse against Afghanistan, and the team also needs to include Ben Stokes in their lineup, but it is going to be quite hard to choose whom they want to be replaced in place of Stokes because every player is playing quite well, but as a team, they are not gelling.
Important players for the England Team in the match against South Africa
1- Root will be the key player to gel up the top-order and the middle-order. He has a great 48.64 average against South Africa in the last 16 matches in which he scored 681 runs, scoring two centuries and two half-centuries.
2- Jos Buttler has a 49.09 runs average in the 16 ODI matches, scoring 540 runs, including two centuries and two half-centuries, but his World Cup is not going well. He scored only 72 runs in three matches and needs a big performance.
3- Reece Topley did not have a great last match against Afghanistan, as he only took one wicket by giving 52 runs, which is not much. He took only one wicket, but in the World Cup, he took 5 wickets in two matches.
Team Preview South Africa
South Africa needs to return to their match-winning grove once again after getting stamped by the Netherlands team in their last match. The bowling unit needs to get the lower other out of the opposition because, in the last match, it was the Netherlands lower order that scored most of the runs, leading them to lose the match.
Important players for the South Africa Team in the match against the England Team
1-Aiden Markram got out on just one run in the last match, but he will be crucial against England in the next match. He scored 163 runs in the last three World Cup matches, but it is quite unusual that he did not bowl any over.
2-Quinton de Kock has been sensational in the World Cup, scoring two centuries in the opening two matches. He has a 60.13 average against England, scoring 3 centuries and four half-centuries, making him the top run scorer against England for the South Africa team.
3- Kagiso Rabada will be the South Africa team’s main bowler, and he has an amazing wicket-taking record against England. He took 20 wickets in 6 matches he played against England.
