Hardik Pandya and Co. suffered defeat against West Indies in the second T20I match. WI are now 2-0.

In the second T20I match of the five-match T20I series, the West Indies have taken a 2-0 lead after inflicting a defeat on India during the second T20I match at Guyana. Hardik Pandya and Co. failed to defend a total of 152 against the Caribbeans and lost by 2 wickets. Indian openers again failed to impress as Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill got out early in the innings. Though Tilak Varma fought and scored his first international half-century, he couldn’t continue his innings for long and got out on 51. Later,  Hardik Pandya tried increasing the score and hit some good shots, but he was bowled by Alzarri Joseph, and somehow India managed to put a total of 152 runs on the scoreboard to defend.

While chasing, West Indies’ innings started with the fall of a wicket on the first ball as Brandon King was caught by Surya Kumar Yadav, and then in the same over, Johnson Charles got out, but Nicholas Pooran handled the situation comfortably and scored his fifty. West Indies were approaching towards victory, but in the 16th over, which was bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, India seemed to have a comeback as three wickets fell in that over, but all the hopes of winning a match were wiped out by Alzaari Joseph and Akeal Hosein by leading their team to victory with 7 balls to spare.

Hardik Pandya and Co. lost their second consecutive T20I match against the West Indies, and now it will be a tough task for India to win the T20I series, but if they did, that would be one of the most remarkable comebacks in cricket. India earlier clinched both ODI and Test series against the host, but this time the West Indies are looking superior in this format, and only teamwork could protect India in the upcoming matches.
