Afghanistan has remained trophyless since its first T20 World Cup season in 2010. But, since their ICC ODI World Cup 2023 performance, where they beat ICC champions like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and England in the tournament, they are no longer considered underdogs in any ICC events. In the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, they want to fight even harder to come up to the tables. The bowling all-rounder Rashid Khan will lead the Afghanistan team in the tournament. Afghanistan’s Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, who was part of Afghanistan’s team in their first T20 World Cup, is also named in the 15-man squad.
