“Look at that lad and learn from him” England’s Former Captain Blasted Ben Duckett’s Comments

Former England's captain Nasser Hussain slams Ben Duckett for his weird claims about Yashasvi Jaiswal learning from England's comments.

India’s sensational left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal got a lot of praise from his teammates and former cricketers after his incredible double hundred against England in the third test of the five-match series at Rajkot. Despite getting out on a score of 10 in the first innings of the match, Yashasvi bounced back in the second innings and scored an unbeaten 214 runs to put a huge total on the board, which England failed to score as the visitors were bowled out for 122 runs. India won the match by a huge 434 runs, leading the series by 2-1. However, England’s Ben Duckett’s weird statements during the post-match press conference on Yashasvi Jaiswal gained a lot of criticism.

Ben Duckett claimed that Yashasvi’s fabulous innings was an influence of “Bazball (aggressive cricket play), which they brought to the test.

When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket,”

England’s left-handed batter was criticized by many for his comments; among them was former England’s captain Nasser Hussain, who slammed the batter and said that England needed to learn from Yashasvi instead.

The comment on Jaiswal that he has learned from us. I am going to touch on that. He has not learned from you, he has learned from his upbringing and all the hard yards he had to put in while growing up, he has learned from the IPL. If anything, I would look at him and learn from him.

So, whatever they are saying in public and in that dressing room, I hope they are going back into their room with little bit of self-introspection. I can look at that lad and learn from him. Otherwise, it becomes a cult, doesn’t it? At times, Bazball has been described as a cult where you cannot criticise either within or externally. Even in this regime, there is room for learning and improving.
