India vs Afghanistan 1st T20I Highlights
India’s skipper, after winning the toss, elected to bowl first. Afghanistan’s skipper, Ibrahim Zadran, and wicketkeeper, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, opened the innings for Afghanistan. Both batters played their own game, where Rahmanullah was attacking from one side and Zadran carefully striking the ball whenever required, but Axar Patel couldn’t let the batters settle for long and sent Gurbaz back to the pavilion when Afghanistan were on the score of 50. Soon, skipper Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah got dismissed, and Afghanistan were on the backfoot, then Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai handled the innings and put Afghanistan back in the run game.
Mohammad Nabi scored 42 runs in just 27 balls, and Afghanistan put a total of 158 runs on the board. India needed 159 runs to win the match.
India’s skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the chase, and fans were excited to see “Hitman” after a long time in the T20I, but unfortunately they couldn’t get to watch him score runs as a mixup between the openers led to his run out on a duck. Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma carried the Indian innings, where Gill was scoring runs, but on the score of 23, he got beaten by Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman’s googly and got stumped.
Left-handed batter Shivam Dube entered the crease and went straight to his way of playing cricket after Tilak Varma’s dismissal. Jitesh Sharma and Dube didn’t let the run rate drop and smashed bowlers from both ends. Shivam Dube hit his second T20I fifty and ended the chase by scoring a boundary. India reached the target of 159 runs with 15 balls to spare. Shivam Dube remained not-out on 60 runs.
