India vs Afghanistan 3rd T20I Highlights
India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, after winning the toss, decided to bat first in Bengaluru and opened the Indian innings along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. India’s start of the innings wasn’t that good, though 11 runs came in the first over. Soon, Yashasvi Jaiswal got dismissed on a score of 4, but the nightmare was about to come as Virat Kohli, Shivam Dube, and then Sanju Samson were dismissed on either a duck or a single-digit score. India were in deep trouble, and the score was 22-4. The hitman was still on the crease, but he needed a partner to sail India’s boat to the shore, and that support came in the name of Rinku Singh.
Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh slowly built the partnership, and the scoreboard kept running with the two batting sensibly in the first 10 overs. After reading the pitch conditions, both batters started dealing in boundaries and sixes. Rohit Sharma hit his fifth T20I century, whereas Rinku Singh scored his second T20I fifty. Both batters smashed 36 runs in the final over of India’s innings, which took the total to 212 runs in 20 overs.
Afghanistan started the chase of 213 runs with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, and it was clear that there was no time for Afghanistan’s batters to waste, and Gurbaz took the game in his own hands. The two didn’t only build the partnership but scored the runs keeping the required run rate in mind, but the partnership came to an end in the 11th over when Gurbaz, who had completed his fifty in that over, was caught at the covers by Washington Sundar.
Soon Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai got dismissed, and India was back in business, but Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib didn’t let Indian bowlers build pressure as the duo attacked the Indian bowlers with sheer power. Gulbadin Naid hit his third T20I fifty and leveled the score on the final ball of the match. Now it was time to super over to decide the winner of the game.
This game didn’t let the audience leave the stadium as the first super over got tied with both teams scoring 16 runs. Now it was time for India to bat first in the second super over, and the team could only reach a score of 11 but Ravi Bishnoi defended it by taking two wickets and India won the match by 10 runs.
