India vs South Africa 1st Test: Will Rain Play Spoil-Sport On Day 1 Of The Centurion Test?

Rain is likely to show its fury by interrupting Day 1 of the first test.

India and the host, South Africa, are going into the final phase of their three format series from today onwards. India and South Africa’s first test is scheduled to happen at Centurion, South Africa, but the weather in the “Rainbow Nation” has been a headache throughout the entire tour. First, it was the T20 series, where the first and second T20I matches were affected by the downpour, and then there were some interruptions in the ODI series as well. Now that both teams are gearing up for the test series, rain is likely to appear again, and this time Day 1 of the first test will be affected by it.

As per the weather forecast, the chances of rain showers are 92% in the morning, which will reduce to 80% during the afternoon. Overall, the clouds won’t let Day 1 go as per the schedule, and even if the rain doesn’t happen as furiously as predicted, there will be a few overs to be bowled on Day 1 of the first test.

India’s tour of South Africa has been a successful journey so far as the visitor’s beat the host in the decider of the three-match ODI series to win it by 2-1 under the captaincy of KL Rahul. The second string of team India did well in the ODI series, whereas in the T20I series, the number one T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, captained India to level the rain-spoiled T20I series by 1-1.

Rohit Sharma will be leading the team in the two-match test series, and it will be interesting to see whether this time India manages to register a test series win over South Africa, as last time back in January 2022, India couldn’t be able to win it. India never won a test series in South Africa, but now they have the chance to win one.
