Heinrich Klaasen after scoring his century

SRH vs KKR: SRH registered a huge victory of 110 runs over KKR in the 68th match of the IPL 2025 to end this year’s campaign with a win.

SRH won the toss and decided to bat first; the dangerous duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for SRH, and as expected, both went after bowlers like hungry lions. They took the score to 79 runs in the powerplay. Sunil Narine got the first breakthrough and took the wicket of Abhishek Sharma in the 7th over. Travis Head scored his fifty, and Heinrich Klaasen started his game, hitting bowlers all over the park and reaching his 50 in just 17 balls. Travis Head got out after scoring 76 runs for his team. Heinrich Klaasen didn’t let the KKR bowlers rest and continued playing like he did to score his century. His century helped his team reach 278 runs at the end of 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 279 runs, Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock started well. Sunil Narine was taking the risk and getting the reward, but it was Jaydev Undakat’s slower delivery that dismissed him. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane misread the slower ball and got out on 15 runs. Harsh Dubey dismissed Rinku Singh and Andre Russell in the same over to diminish KKR’s hopes of a win. KKR collapsed for 168 runs to lose the match by 110 runs.

IPL 2025, Match 68th, SRH vs KKR: Captains’ Corner

Amazing finish. Lot of things clicked in the last few games. Amazing batting. We have the calibre, but we couldn’t play any worse in some parts. Have the team to make the finals most times. It just didn’t work out this year. We’re gonna get wickets like this where we can max out, but others where we need to graft to 170 which we didn’t get right. Feel like quite a few guys got opportunities. Really happy with the squad despite some injuries and players going out. Feels like we used 20 players.

SRH batted well, we made errors. They capitalised on the loose balls and hit the good balls as well. Their intent was great. (Taking pace off) We discussed it, going wide too, but if the bowler doesn’t execute it well, batters like Klaasen capitalise. Through the season, we had our moments. Two or three close games, which we didn’t play well. We gave our best, in a format like this you have to be switched on always. If we’d taken those moments, we’d have been one or two. No regrets, all gave their best. We’ll come back strong next year.
