PBKS vs RCB: RCB after defeating Punjab Kings has reached the finals of the IPL 2025 after 9 years.

RCB skipper Rajat Patidar, after winning the toss, decided to bowl first. The usual duo of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya came to open the innings for Punjab. It didn’t take much time for RCB bowlers to strike as Yash Dayal picked up the wicket of Priyansh Arya in the 2nd over of the match. Prabhsimran Singh launched an attack on Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and hit boundaries in his over, but the bowler had the last laugh as the batter got caught behind. Shreyas Iyer was the next to get dismissed.

Till the end of the powerplay, Punjab lost 4 wickets for just 48 runs. Marcus Stoinis tried handling the situation, but Suyash Sharma bowled a googly to dismiss him. Punjab Kings were bowled out for 101 runs in 14.1 overs.

Chasing the target of 102 runs, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave a quick start to the team. Kyle Jamieson ignited the hopes in Punjab Kings dug out by picking up the wicket of Virat Kohli and bowling a wicket-maiden over, but it didn’t take much time for Phil Salt to read him and smash the deliveries out of the park in the next over of the New-Zealand bowler. Mayank Agarwal got out, but due to the low target, Phil Salt helped RCB reach the target easily; meanwhile, he scored his fifty. RCB reached the target in 10 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets.

“Not a day to forget, but we have to go to the drawing board. We were befuddled and lost a lot of wickets. Something to go back and study. Not doubting on my decisions in terms of planning. Outside of the ground, it was on point. Couldn’t execute, can’t blame our bowlers. It was such a low total. Got to work on our batting, on this wicket. In all games here, there has been variable bounce. Can’t give such reasons because we are professionals and we have to live up to it. We have lost the battle but not the war.”

We were very clear in our plans and how we have to bowl. Fast bowlers used the surface well, Suyash chipped in well. He bowls in line of the stumps, which is his strength. I don’t give him a lot of ideas, don’t want to confuse him. We had done a lot of practice throughout the tournament. One day of non-practice won’t harm you. The way [Salt] is batting in every match, the way he is giving us starts, it is a treat. I am a big fan of him. Always thank RCB fans, wherever we go, we feel like it is our home ground. One more game, let’s celebrate together!”
