India-Pakistan border tensions didn’t let superpowers like the USA wait and watch as eventually the Donald Trump administration stepped in to settle a ceasefire between these nuclear-armed countries. Though there were reports that an hour after the ceasefire agreement, Pakistan again started escalating at the border, however, since Saturday night, there haven’t been any such updates on violations at the border from the military officials. The escalations have led to the suspension of the ongoing Indian Premier League by one week, the last match that was going on between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on Thursday at Dharamshala, as it was called off due to border tensions.

After the ceasefire, the BCCI president Rajeev Shukla as quoted by ANI, said that the league will resume soon.

No decision has been taken yet. The tournament was suspended for a week and yesterday there was a ceasefire … the tournament will be restarted soon.”

Rajeev Shukla said

According to the reports, the venues of the upcoming matches could change, with the final being shifted from Kolkata due to unfavorable weather reports. The tournament will restart from the LSG vs RCB match, which was scheduled for Friday last week before it was suspended.

The problem that lies in the resumption of the tournament is the unavailability of some of the overseas players who have their schedules packed due to the upcoming ICC events and some oversaeas players like Josh Hazlewood who has been playing a critical role in RCB’s bowling line-up has been injured and was called back by Cricket Australia due to the upcoming World test Championship final if the league hasn’t suspended he could have done his rehab in India and played few more matches but as of the latest updates it is likely that he will not return to play the rest of the matches.
