Jasprit Jasbirsingh Bumrah was born on December 6, 1993 (age 29) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to Jasbir Singh (his father) and Daljit Bumrah (his mother), and at the very young age of 7, he lost his father. Since then, his mother, Daljit Singh, raised him and provided him everything needed to become a successful cricketer. His mother was a school teacher back then, and in the same school (Nirman High School in Ahmedabad) he studied during his childhood days. At the age of 14, he started developing an interest in cricket, and that’s when his first coach, Kishore Trivedi, saw his talent and started grooming him as a bowler.

Domestic Career:

Jasprit Bumrah started his domestic career in October 2013 when he started playing first-class cricket from Gujarat. He made his domestic T20 debut against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where his bowling skills helped Gujarat win the trophy that year, and he was awarded man of the match for his exceptional bowling figures of 3/14 in the final of the tournament.

He made his list-A debut against Pakistan U-23 while playing for India U-23, and the team went on to lift the trophy. He played several matches in domestic cricket and improved his bowling skills; in his 276 matches, he scalped 483 wickets.

IPL Career.

The IPL was the stage where his talent got recognized by the players and selectors, though Mumbai Indians’ erstwhile coach John Wright noticed his talent during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and without any delay he inducted the young bowler into the Mumbai Indians. In 2013, he made his IPL debut, playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In his first few balls of his first over, he was smashed for boundaries by Virat Kohli, but he did a stunning comeback and sent Virat Kohli to the pavilion in the same over. In his debut match, he took three wickets for 32 runs.

Bumrah played just two matches that season, but he was retained by the Mumbai Indians for the next season of the IPL. He made his international T20 debut in the same year against Australia, and in his first T20 match, he displayed his bowling prowess to restrict the host team from reaching the target set by India. After making his debut in the ODIs and T20s, now it is his turn to make an appearance in the longest format of cricket, and he made his debut in Test cricket against South Africa in 2017 at Newlands in Cape Town on January 5, 2018.

Team India lost that match following the incident. Jaipur Police used the incident to develop an awareness poster to make people follow traffic rules, to which Jasprit Bumrah seemed disappointed and tweeted.
