“Bazball is wonderful” Kapil Dev suggested Rohit Sharma to follow aggressive approach.

Rohit Sharma led the Indian team last on July 27 when India defeated West Indies in the ODI match. Since then, he and Virat Kohli have taken rest from cricket for some time and are preparing for the Asia Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma and Co. batted in T20 style during the second test match against the West Indies, where Rohit hit his fastest fifty in test cricket, and the India team scored the fastest team 100 in test cricket, breaking Sri Lanka’s age-old record. The match was declared a draw due to a heavy downpour, but no one can deny that the adoption of an aggressive approach was amazing and showed a glimpse of the Bazball style of playing, which is popularized by the England team.

Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev has an unwavering support for the Bazball and wants Rohit Sharma and Co. to use this aggressive approach to playing test cricket. He advised Rohit and Virat to play domestic cricket as it will help young cricketers who are at the domestic level. Kapil Dev praised England for playing aggressive cricket in the Test format; in fact, he mentioned that the Ashes was one of the best series he had seen in recent times.

Bazball is wonderful. The series between England and Australia was one of the finest series I have seen in recent times. I think cricket should be played like that. Rohit is good. But he must be more aggressive. You have to think about how teams like England play now. And it’s not just us. All cricket-playing countries have to think on those lines. Winning the game should be the highest priority (not play for draws) for all teams,”

Kapil Dev to TOI

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back in the team during the Asia Cup 2023; they are not part of the playing squad for India’s Ireland tour. The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been given the responsibility of leading the team in the T20I series against Ireland.
