“I looked yesterday at a net and could not hit the ball in the middle of the bat, so I was very frustrated. So luckily today, I needed that just to get your campaign on the road. It’s a nice wicket to bat on this, so I think it’s important that when you get in, you make sure you get a big score. I think batting first literally feels like the wind is stronger. So you feel like one side is a bit harder to hit into, and I think that makes it a little bit easy to bowl at the depth when you’ve got two new batters coming in versus now you can feel it’s not as breezy, which just opens up both sides of the ground, but definitely, as I said, the foundation was there to go 20 runs more at the back end then.”
Faf du Plessis(TSK Captain) said post-match
“Firstly, I think you know this award [MVP] probably should go to Faf or Finn, they both probably batted a lot better tonight. They were probably the MVPs for the day. But yeah, obviously take the win. First game as captain, and probably first game in a few months for me as well. So it’s just nice to be back out there, and I wanted to play a part in the win. It was nice. It felt really nice. The wickets, they’ve been really nice the last couple of years. So big shout out to the trainer and the guys from back home in Adelaide, they’ve done a great job as always.
