The World Test Championship(2023-2025) is reaching its conclusion, and two finalists, South Africa and Australia, are going to clash at the Lord’s Cricket Ground for the ultimate showdown. Australia claimed the mace in the 2nd edition of the WTC(2021-2023) by defeating India in the final, and in the ongoing WTC(2023-2025), they will try to defend their title against South Africa, who have reached the final for the first time.
It has been an unfortunate journey for India so far in the WTC. The team reached the finals in the previous two seasons but lost against New Zealand in the inaugural edition. Then, in the second edition, they were defeated by Australia. In the ongoing edition, they were knocked out of the race after losing test series against New Zealand and Australia. In the 19 matches India played, they managed to win 9, lose 8 games, and draw two matches.
Heavy amount will be given by the ICC after the conclusion of the final with winner getting INR 30.78 crores and the runner-up getting INR 18.46 crores. India will finish 3rd in the tournament and get INR 12.31 crores.
