R. Ashwin returns to the team for the India vs Australia ODI series.

KL Rahul would be seen captaining the Indian squad in the first two ODIs, and Ravindra Jadeja would be his deputy.

India, after winning the Asia Cup 2023 title, are ready for their next ODI series, which will be against Australia. The three-match ODI series squad has been announced, and one of the names that surprised people was R. Ashwin, as earlier he got snubbed twice. First,  he wasn’t included in the squad for the Asia Cup 2023, and his hope of representing India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been shattered after India announced the squad for the same. The squad announced by India includes wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav and two left-arm spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, but there are chances of him being included in the CWC squad if Axar Patel doesn’t get fit before September 28.

Axar Patel got injured during India’s match against Bangladesh, due to which he didn’t play the Asia Cup final, and India immediately called Washington Sundar as a replacement for the all-rounder, with R. Ashwin returning to the ODIs after a long time, as the spinner last played an ODI in January 2023 against South Africa. Some big names, including India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, have been rested for the first two ODI matches; Virat Kohli is named only for the third ODI. KL Rahul would be seen captaining the Indian squad in the first two ODIs, and Ravindra Jadeja would be his deputy.
