Rinku Singh’s shine again with his finish took Meerut Mavericks to a super-over win.
The left-handed batter Rinku Singh who stunned every cricket fan during the IPL 2023 with his historic 5 sixes in 5 balls in the final over of the match that led his team to an unbelievable victory against Gujarat Titans once again did something amazing, everyone was eager to see the same Rinku Singh on the field, and he delivered again this time in the UP T20 league, where he is batting for Meerut Mavericks, he hit 3 sixes in a row in the super over, which took his team to the victory over Kashi Rudras. Meerut Mavericks needed 17 runs in the super over, and the onus to do that was on Rinku Singh. He didn’t have an impactful innings while chasing the target, but team management showed confidence in him, and he didn’t disappoint.
Rinku Singh recently made his debut for India during the T20I series against Ireland, and when he got the opportunity to bat during the second match of the series, he scored 38 runs. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to bat in the other two matches, but India won the series 2-0 against the Irish team. Meerut put a total of 181 runs on the board courtesy of Madhav Kaushik’s unbeaten 87 off 52 balls. Kashi Rudras, in reply, managed to score the same runs in the overs assigned, and the decision was left to the super over, where Rinku stole the show with his super over heroics.
Meerut Mavericks registered their first win in their first match of the UP T20 League. Rinku Singh will be seen after this regional league in the Asian Games 2023, which are going to be held in Hangzhou, China. The Indian team would be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad in the event, and it would be a test for Rinku Singh to perform in the international event.
