Sanjiv Goenka Shares A “Positive” Post On Social Media After LSG’s Loss To DC

Sanjiv Goenka in talks with Rishabh Pant and Justin Langer

Lucknow Super Giants didn’t get the start they wanted in the IPL 2025 as they lost an intense campaign starter to Delhi Capitals at ACA-VDCA cricket stadium, Vishakhapatnam. LSG was in complete control of the match, and everything was working for them, but youngsters Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam snatched the game from the jaws of defeat, and the former finished the match with a six-to-register the highest-ever successful chase for Delhi Capitals.

It wasn’t the day for the most expensive IPL 2025 bid; Rishabh Pant first, the newly appointed LSG’s skipper, failed to do anything significant in the batting and got out on a duck; then, in the final over of the match under pressure, he missed the chance to stump Mohit Sharma which caused his team the match as then the bowler took a quick single and then Ashutosh Sharma ended the game. Post-match, LSG’s owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen having a chat with the wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant, and netizens were quick to react to the footage, comparing it to last year’s slamming of KL Rahul.

But the story was opposite to what Netizens expected as LSG’s owner was having a friendly and motivating chat with the two. Later, the owner shared a post on his social media handle, showing the positive side of a game where opponents talk like friends post-match.

Not only did the owner cheer the team on the ground but also in the dressing room, where he delivered a motivational speech to boost his team’s morale.

Lots of positives that I take away from this game. The way we had the Powerplay in both batting and bowling was brilliant. These things happen. We are a young team; let’s look at the positives and look forward from tomorrow to the 27th. And hopefully, we’ll have a better result. Disappointing result (tonight), yes. But a great game. So well done,”
