South Africa vs New Zealand: New Zealand remained undefeated so far in the Pakistan-South Africa-New Zealand tri-nation series by winning the 2nd ODI by 6 wickets against South Africa.
New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first. Matthew Breetzke and South Africa’s skipper Temba Bavuma started the innings for their team. Both batters started cautiously and started running the scoreboard. While trying to guide a short ball in the 8th over, Temba Bavuma got caught by the wicketkeeper. Jason Smith came to the crease and started building a partnership with Matthew Breetzke. Both took the score to 130, but while trying to take a quick single, Jason Smith got out on 41 runs. Kyle Verreynne was the next to get dismissed. Breetzke kept scoring runs from one end and hit his hundred before getting out, scoring 150 runs. Wiaan Mulder contributed 64 runs as South Africa scored 304/6 at the end of 50 overs.
Chasing 304 runs, New Zealand’s start was decent as the openers Will Young and Devon Conway put 50 runs on the board in 9 Overs, but in the last over of the powerplay, Will Young got out as the Kiwis lost their first wicket. Kane Williamson joined Devon Conway as both batters started closing the chase gap. Kan Williamson hit his ton, but Devon Conway remained 3 runs short and got caught at 97 runs. Williamson remained not out on 133 runs and reached the target in 48.4 overs.

South Africa vs New Zealand: Captains’ Corner
I think you wanna win but different guys performing is pleasing for the squad and we have another big game in a few days’ time in Karachi. I guess we pride ourselves on fielding, especially in the middle overs on flat wickets where there are partnerships. It was an outstanding knock from Conway and that partnership between him and Kane…
Mitchell Santner(New Zealand Captain) said post-match
Yeah, some positives. Matty on debut scoring 150 and the other guys from a bowling point of view also chipped in. Probably didn’t score too many runs. It was tricky against the new ball and they got the ball to nip around off the surface, but once that went away, it became a bit easier. Would have liked to get more runs. From this game, we will have to be a lot better with your batting and bowling and it won’t get easier. As a team, we have to up our game and it’s going to be a quick turnaround.
