The 2025 season of F1 is already getting exciting before the 2024 season starts, as Red Bull offered Alex Albon a three-year contract for the 2025 F1 season as he will replace Sergio Perez.
It is not the first time Alex will sit in the Red Bull Racing car because he was their driver from 2019 to 2020 when he scored 105 points in the World Drivers Championship.
Alex Albon’s Career in Racing
Alex Albon has been one of the great young talents in Formula F1, but his journey in racing started in 2005 at the age of 8. He started karting in which he won the local Hoddesdon Championship, and then in 2006, he won the Super 1 National Honda Cadet Championship. Later, he kept climbing up in the order, and then in 2019, at the start of the season, he joined Toro Rosso, but soon Red Bull Racing signed him in place of Pierre Gasly to partner with Max Verstappen. However, things did not work well, and he ended the season with only 92 points, finishing eight in the World Championship.
In the F1 Season 2022, Williams signed Albon, replacing George Russell, but again, the season did not go well with Williams as the car did not have an amazing pace, and it was the slowest car in the season. In the 2023 season, he scored 27 points and secured the thirteenth place in the Drivers Championship.
Albon is not going to have an easy task keeping up with Max’s pace and helping him be a World Champion once again, but he did show that he has what it takes to be the Red Bull Driver. He also needs to perform better in the 2024 season because if he does not, there is a chance that Red Bull can give the contract to someone else.
