Joshua Zirkzee Transfer News: Manchester United And Arsenal Fighting To Land The Young Talented Striker
The January transfer window is set to heat up as Manchester United and Arsenal compete for the young Bologna striker, Joshua Zirkzee. However, both teams failed to land the striker in the winter but are going to try in the summer if their form of Joshua stays the same.
Who is Joshua Zirkzee?
Joshua Zirkzee is a young and talented striker from the Netherlands who plays for Bologna in Serie A during the 2023/2024 season. He is a product of Bayern Munich’s youth academy and has made 14 appearances for the team, mostly in domestic cup matches where he scored 4 goals. During his time at Bayern Munich, he also went on a short loan at Parma but only managed to play four matches due to an LCL injury.
In the 2021/22 season, he was loaned out to Anderlecht, where he played 38 matches and scored 16 goals. Bologna signed him for the 2022/23 season, where he played 22 matches, scored eight goals, and provided four assists.
Arsenal launched €50M deal to sign Bologna Striker Joshua Zirkzee
Arsenal is currently looking to sign a new striker before the winter transfer window closes. This is because their current strikers, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, have not been performing well in front of the goal. Arsenal has made a bid of €50M for the Bologna striker, Zirkzee. However, they need to be cautious since this could lead to Financial Fair Play restrictions. This could result in a deduction of points in the Premier League next season or a restriction on their summer transfer window.
Manchester United Splashed an 80 million euros (£68m) bid for Joshua Zirkzee
It has been reported that Manchester United is currently leading the race to sign Zirkzee from Bolong. This is due to their need for another good striker, as their previous signing, Rasmus Hojlund, failed to deliver the expected performance that he had in Atalanta. However, some experts believe that the club should reconsider their decision to spend a large amount of money on another young and unproven talent, as they have already faced disappointment in the past with three such signings – Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Rasmus Hojlund.
