Liverpool might be out of the Premier League Title Race now after defeat against Everton by 2-0
The Liverpool fans and the legendary manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp’s dream might be over now after their horrific last match performance against the Everton side, who won the match by 2-0 against them. It was the first time in the last 13 years that Everton defeated Liverpool at home in the Premier League since October 2010, which also ended with a 2-0 scoreline.
In the last two weeks, Liverpool has lost three out of five matches. This started with their Atalanta in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League, when they were defeated 3-0. Then, in the last match, they lost against Everton, which is probably going to end their dream of winning the Premier League title, as Manchester City and Arsenal have the advantage over them now. Klopp was not happy with the result, as he said.
“A disappointing display at Goodison Park ended in a 2-0 defeat, with Klopp telling beIN Sports afterwards when reflecting on what went wrong: “We were not good enough. We gave Everton the game they wanted. Both goals are from set-pieces. We started alright and the first offensive action they have ended in a goal [penalty award], which was disallowed for offside. We have to look in the mirror, we have to be really critical of ourselves. Our counter press was horrible.
We were not good enough.” Klopp added when asked if Liverpool are still in the title race, with a three-point gap separating them from leaders Arsenal while reigning champions Manchester City have two games in hand: “I don’t care the moment. It’s not about that, we first have to win football games. We have to play better. I don’t think a champion should play like us today. That’s my honest opinion. Maybe there were times in the past when it didn’t need 90-odd points and you could play like that.”

People shared these memes after the performances of Liverpool and Arsenal, who lost a few last matches. This gave Pep Gurdiola’s Manchester City the opportunity to win another Premier League title, which is going to be the best they can get this season as they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Real Madrid.
