Manchester United needs to think about their defense after a 2-3 loss to Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund’s young team won against Manchester United in the Club Friendly on July 31st, 2023, by a 3-2 scoreline. However, it was just a friendly match, but still, the defense of Man United did not look in the sink, and it was a big worry for them because they solved most of their last season’s problems.
They brought Mason Mount and Andre Onana to fix their problem in the midfield and Goalkeeper areas. The deal with Rasmus Hojlund is done, as they paid £ 72 million for the former Atalanta BC forward. Now United are looking for the defenders because the way Maguire and Victor Lindelof played in the friendly match made Erik Ten Haq worried about their defensive line in the upcoming English Premier League season.
In the last season they finished second in the table but their defence was not good because they conceded 43 goals which is not a good defensive work by the team. They did signed Lisandro Martinez who was one of the star man in the last season for the Man United but the club needs to find more option for defence because Raphael Varane and Lindelof are not the quick ones who have good agility and speed to track back.
Harry Maguire once again gave an disappointing performance after being stripped of the club captaincy recently. The club is waiting for the better deal for the Maguire as they recently rejected £20 million ($25.8m) offer from the West Ham United and now they decided not to go for another bid.
It is still uncertain which defender Man United want to sign as they as their long term target Kim Min-Jae went to Bayern Munich from Napoli and Axel Disasi is on his way to Chelsea FC after agreeing €45m deal.
In the friendly match agaisnt Dortmund Diogo Dalot and Antony was on the score sheet and on the other hand for the Dortmund side Donyell Malen scored two goal in two minutue. In 71st minute Youssoufa Moukoko scored the winning goal for his club.
