Bengal Warriors Dominate Patna Pirates in Pro Kabaddi League Thriller, Breaking Unbeaten Streak
In a spectacular Pro Kabaddi League showdown at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, the Bengal Warriors triumphed over the Patna Pirates with a commanding 60-42 victory on Tuesday. The match, dominated by raiders, witnessed a total of 102 points, marking the fourth-highest scoring encounter in PKL history and handing the Pirates their first defeat of the season.
Maninder Singh’s impressive 15 points, Nitin Kumar’s 14, and Shrikanth Jadhav’s 12 led the Bengal Warriors to extend their unbeaten run for the season. Despite Sachin Tanwar and Sudhakar M’s valiant efforts with 14 points each for the Patna Pirates, their contributions ultimately went in vain.
The clash between two undefeated teams centered on a strategic battle, and it was the Bengal Warriors who blinked first. The Pirates’ tight defense, coupled with Tanwar’s consistent scoring, initially kept them ahead on the scorecards. However, a game-changing super raid by Nitin Kumar in the final ten minutes of the first half turned the tide. The Warriors capitalized on the momentum, securing the first all-out and surging into a 16-11 lead.
Starting the second half with an 11-point deficit, the Patna Pirates faced an uphill battle. Despite a brief comeback attempt, the Warriors orchestrated a second all-out, stretching their lead to 34-22. Maninder Singh and Shrikanth Jadhav completed their Super 10s, and the Pirates struggled to stave off the inevitable.
In the closing minutes, the Warriors inflicted a third all-out, sealing the victory with an emphatic 18-point margin and ending the Pirates’ unbeaten run. The Bengal Warriors’ dominant performance showcased their prowess in raiding and strategic gameplay, solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in the Pro Kabaddi League.
