Patna Pirates experienced a serious lapse in options in the raiding department. They had only two standout players, Sachin and Rohit Gulia, who carried the lion’s share of the raiding responsibilities. The duo was exceptional in their craft and amassed 176 and 148 raid points, respectively, putting the offense on their shoulders. However, Monu, an experienced campaigner as a raider, could only contribute 14 raid points in attack despite his 22 tackle points for the team. Unfortunately, the lack of support from other teammates proved to be the team’s undoing. Only 94 raid points were contributed by the rest of the team apart from Sachin and Rohit Gulia, leaving a large gap to be filled. Chiyaneh accumulated an impressive 84 tackle points throughout the season, showcasing his exceptional skills and determination. Not only did he become the second-best defender in the season, but he also set a record by scoring the most tackle points in a vivo PKL match with 16 points. While his corner partner Sunil earned 41 tackle points, the Pirate Neeraj Kumar’s performance was mediocre as both a captain and defender, securing only 29 tackle points. Chiyaneh was definitely head and shoulders above the rest, and his efforts were crucial to the team’s overall success.
