Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10 Player Auction Postponed Due to Asian Games Preparations

The much-awaited PKL Season 10 Player Auction has been postponed due to preparations for the upcoming Asian Games, as announced by Mashal Sports, the organizers of the Pro Kabaddi League.

The eagerly anticipated Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10 Player Auction has been deferred to a later date, as confirmed by Mashal Sports, the league’s organizers, on September 1, 2023. The postponement decision follows a formal request from the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), given the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Asian Games. The originally scheduled Player Auction, set for September 8-9, has been pushed back due to the Asian Games-related commitments.

The Asian Games holds significant importance for Indian Kabaddi, prompting the decision to accommodate the preparations of the Indian Men’s and Women’s Kabaddi Teams. A spokesperson from Mashal Sports stated, “We have received a formal request from the AKFI Administrator to defer the PKL Season 10 Player Auction. It was in view of the ongoing preparations of the Indian Men’s and Women’s Teams for Kabaddi medal competitions at the Asian Games.”

The cooperation between Mashal Sports and AKFI to ensure a successful Kabaddi season is evident, with both entities recognizing the critical role the event plays for Indian Kabaddi enthusiasts. The spokesperson added, “The Administrator has acknowledged and appreciated the comprehensive reworking that all PKL stakeholders including our 12 teams and the broadcaster will have to make for the deferred player auction.”

While the new dates for the PKL Season 10 Player Auction are yet to be finalized, the league’s stakeholders, including the teams and the broadcast partner, Star Sports, will be consulted before making a decision. The PKL Season 10 auction holds the promise of exciting developments in the world of Kabaddi, and fans can look forward to updates on the new auction dates in the near future.
