Haryana Steelers vs UP Yoddhas: UP Yoddhas took a step closer to a playoff berth after their win over the already-qualified Haryana Steelers. In the match 117th of the Pro Kabaddi League season 11, UP Yoddhas defeated the table-toppers Haryana Steelers.
From the first raid of the match, Haryana Steelers started putting pressure on Yoddha’s defense as Vinay’s fast raid made Yoddha’s defender go out of the end line, and then they tackled UP Yoddhas’ star raider Gagan Gowda to gain the lead.
Vinay’s 2-point raid further increased the lead as UP Yoddhas were waiting to get their first point. Finally, in the do-or-die raid, Haryana’s defense made a mistake as Sahil pulled raider Pawan by the jersey, which made UP secure their first point of the match.
Yoddhas’ substitution Mohammadreza Kaboudrahangi scored the first tackle point for his team, and then Bhavani Rajput’s 2-point raid made UP equal the scoreline. Haryana was down to 2-men, but that’s where they showed their defense prowess and did a super tackle of Bhavani Rajput to revive their players. Soon, Haryana started leading the scoreline by 3 points.
Bahavni Rajput closed the gap with his super raid in the last 3 minutes of the first half, helping UP inflict the first all-out on the Steelers. At the end of the first half, UP was leading the chart with 15-13.
UP Yoddhas started dominating Haryana Steelers from the first whistle of the second half. There was no stopping Bhavani Rajput, whose backkicks were hurting the Steelers’ defense. In the 7th minute of the second half, UP increased its lead by inflicting another all-out on the Steelers. Though Haryana’s defense was doing well, Yoddhas’ raiders didn’t let them decrease the deficit and won the match by 7 points, with a scoreline of 31-24.
