Bengal Warriorz vs Patna Pirates: In the last match of the Noida Leg, Patna Pirates came prepared to get its second consecutive win and climbed up the points table to the second position. A collective effort of raiders and defenders helped Patna Pirates seal a three-point victory against Bengal Warriorz.
Bengal Warriorz’s Maninder Singh’s start was terrific as the raider got his first point of the game in the first raid. Patna Pirates’ rising star Devank also started by getting a touchpoint in his first raid. There was intense back and forth going on the mat as both team’s leading raiders were putting on a show for the spectators. In the first five minutes, the Raiders dominated the match. The first point in defense came from Patna’s side as they trapped Maninder Singh; soon, Bengal Warriors defenders woke up and started getting tackle points. The first half ended with a super raid coming from Patna’s Devank, who scored 3 points in a do-or-die raid to take his team in the lead with the scoreline of 19-15.
At the start of the second half, Ayan Lohchab scored a super raid to get 3 more points for his team. With 3 minutes in of the second half, Patna Pirates inflicted the first all-out of the match on Bengal Warriorz to get a huge lead, but Warriorz didn’t give up and started the counterattack with their defenders scoring 2 points in multiple super tackles. In the game’s final minutes, Maninder Singh scored a bonus to complete 1500 raid points in the PKL and closed down the points deficit but that wasn’t enough to pass the Patna’s points as the latter won the match with 38-35.
