Sports Ministry Sends SAI Coaches to Help Tanzania at Kabaddi Cup

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) is taking an admirable step towards empowering the Tanzanian Kabaddi Teams by funding and deputing two top-notch Sports Authority of India (SAI) kabaddi coaches – Simrat Gaikwad and Soundararajan – to Tanzania. The coaches from SAI NCOE Mumbai and SAI Bengaluru’s Academic Division respectively, will be instrumental in preparing the Tanzanian players for the upcoming World Kabaddi Cup in 2023. It is a heartening sight to see the Indian government take proactive steps to uplift the sport in Tanzania and other parts of the world. Tanzanian Kabaddi expressed their gratitude on social media, thanking the Indian government for this initiative, and this goes on to show how sports can break all boundaries and bring nations together.

Thakur’s recent statement about the bilateral knowledge-sharing opportunity in sports highlights an incredible international exchange in the world of athletics. It’s inspiring to see the government taking such initiatives to connect with other nations and share expertise. This is precisely what the phrase ‘Vasudheva Kutumbakam’ represents, where the world is viewed as one family. In this case, two Indian Kabaddi coaches will impart their knowledge and training techniques to the Tanzanian Kabaddi team, and in return, gain a better understanding of their culture and perspective. It’s a win-win situation, and we can only wish them all success in this unique venture. Such initiatives show the power of sport to break barriers and bring people together.
