“Umar won the fight through..” Former UFC Champ Gave The Win To Umar Nurmagomedov For This Reason

Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov while fighting

At UFC 311, reigning UFC Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili defended his title for the first time against the then-undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov. The “Young Eagle” was on an 18-fight win streak, and the two several times exchanged heated words before the bout. The hype of Umar Nurmagomedov was such that coming into the fight, he was the favorite to win, but the champ washed away the hype and took Umar to deep waters where the challenger failed to survive. Merab Dvalishvili’s insane pressure fatigued Umar, and the showboarding of the champ excited the crowd as the judges awarded him a unanimous decision win.

Henry Cejudo is scheduled to face Song Yadong at the main event of the UFC Seattle. “Triple C” is eyeing another run to the title if he wins the bout, and if the results do not go his way, then the former champ will call off his career.

“This is the last run. I’m making this last push, this last hurrah over here, and I just turned 38. Age is not a factor in it either, it’s my performances. Am I able to display my art inside of the octagon in front of 25,000 people? That’s where it gets real for me.”
