UFC reigning featherweight champion Ilia Topuria is set to face BMF champ Max Holloway at UFC 308 this month; before the bout, the featherweight champ has already revealed his plans to move up in the lightweight and didn’t hesitate to call out Lightweight champ Islam Makhachev. After the call-out, there was a lot of back and forth between him and Team Makhachev. In an interview with MatchTV, the lightweight champ replied to the call-out and advised Ilia Topuria to focus on defending his belt first at UFC 308. plus, he warned the featherweight champ not to cross any personal boundaries.
“If Topuria continues in the same spirit, he may play himself out. Something may happen. So far I have not seen anyone cross any personal boundaries, so far nothing like that has happened. He needs to focus on his weight class and defending his belt at least once.”

Ilia Topuria was quick to respond to Islam Makhachev, targeting his team and fellow fighters he advised him to let his friends stay away from this and fight with him in 2025.

Ilia Topuria’s next fight is at UFC 308, where the Spaniard will defend his featherweight title for the first time against former featherweight champ and now BMF champ Max Holloway. Both are coming into the fight with impressive victories over their opponents, whose hand will be raised at UFC 308, which will be decided on 26 October 2024.
