Kwon Won Il, after his ONE Fight Night 18 performance, has become the top prospect for the ONE Bantamweight MMA title shot. The South Korean MMA star knocked out Shinechagtga Zolsetseg in the second round of the fight by dropping him down on the mat. This was Kwon Won Il’s third straight win by a finish. “Pretty Boy,” after his emphatic win, has challenged his division’s title holder, Fabricio Andrade, for a rematch. ‘Pretty Boy” and Fabricio Andrade fought at ONE 158 back in 2022, where Fabricio Andrade got the better of Kwon Won Il, knocking out the latter with his signature brutal body kick that dropped Kwon Won Il on the mat.
At ONE Fight Night 18, Kwon Won Il and Mongolian MMA fighter Shinechagtga Zolsetseg had an exciting fight where the former won the fight. Since the start of the fight, the South Korean star looked aggressive and surprised everyone with his takedown defense. As his counterpart was from a wrestling background, he looked prepared for the challenge and didn’t let Shinechagtga Zolsetseg take him down on the mat. In fact, the South Korean star showed the audience his underrated wrestling and grappling, and coming to the second round, he continued building the pressure on the Mongolian.
He locked Shinechagtga Zolsetseg on the mat and, from the top, threw bone-breaking elbow strikes. His opponent tried to stop him, but until then the damage was done, which made Refree stop the fight. After the fight, he called out the champion for a rematch.
“I’m gonna kill you, baby. Where are you, Fabricio? I’m coming for you.”
