Puja Tomar To Fight Shauna Bannon At UFC London

Puja Tomar during her fight with Rayanne Dos Santos

Puja Tomar made history by becoming India’s first UFC fighter to register a win at the UFC Octagon. “The Cyclone” defeated Rayanne Dos Santos via split decision in her UFC debut. The fight went back and forth for all three rounds, and according to the judges, Puja Tomar did enough to defeat the Brazilian. It was a big achievement for the Indian MMA community as the Indian Strawweight ignited the hope in thousands of young Indian MMA fighters after her win that India is ready to take on tough competitors in the UFC.

Puja Tomar has her next assignment this weekend, where she will be taking on Irish Strawweight Shauna Bannon in the event’s preliminary card. Shauna Bannon lost her UFC debut but won her last fight against Ardelean via split decision. Puja Tomar has lethal side kicks, and she showcased how to execute them flawlessly in her debut fight. She will use them against the Irish Strawweight as well. Bannon has a reach and height advantage on her side, which will put Tomar in trouble during the fight, and the leg and kick combos of the Irish fighter are amazing to watch.

Both fighters have a lethal striking game where Puja Tomar is good at closing distance via her side kicks, and Shauna Bannon is good at mixing it up on feet. Speed will be Puja Tomar’s weapon to neutralize Bannon’s constant striking game. Like her last fight, if Puja kept the peddle on forward movement, then it would become difficult for her opponent to find her range where, whereas the Irish fighter would enter the cage with a game plan and be able to execute it on event she would get her arms raised after the fight. Here is the preliminary card of the UFC London.
