Colby Covington Hits Back At Sean Strickland’s Comments On “Fighters’ Pay”

Former UFC middleweight Champion Sean Strickland after his UFC 302 win has been vocal about fighters’ pay in the UFC and repeated the same by commenting on Mike Perry’s statement saying that BKFC fighters are getting even less than UFC’s entry level fighters who are earning 10K per fights.

“UFC pay is utter garbage lol they’re signing guys at 10K/10K that should be criminal… but the vast majority of BKFC fighters are getting paid way less than that… As a UFC fighter I advocate for better pay for me and the entire roster… You should do the same for your guys.”

Here are Sean Strickland’s comments quoted by Championship Rounds.

Sean Strickland’s comments regarding the fighters’ pay didn’t go well with Colby Covington, who criticized Tarzan for being a hypocrite. In the SOSCAST podcast, the Chaos stated:

“My thoughts are, Sean changed his life, so he’s kind of hypocritical to be saying this. Now he lives in a really nice mansion-style type house, has great cars, and has money in the bank. So who is he to say this? He’s literally being a hypocrite too.”

Colby Covington said

Colby also said that Tarzan had made a good fortune in the UFC and estimated his current earnings per fight which is around $1.5 million.

“He’s just talking about the guys that just start in UFC. He’s talking about the [$10,000/$10,000] pay? Yeah, that’s when you just get your first fight in UFC. Let’s talk about what he’s making now. He’s making guaranteed at least $500,000 to $1.5 million in that range per fight.”

Covington added

Sean Strickland though being the number one middleweight contender has been ignored for getting a title shot as Dricus du Plessis is going to defend his gold against Israel Adesanya next.
