“April? Miami?” Gilbert Burns Responds To Colby Covington’s Call-out

After the UFC Tampa event, former Welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns and former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington are setting up the next rivalry fight for the division. Following UFC Tampa’s loss to Joaquin Buckley, Colby Covington went off on “Durinho” after the latter’s move to share Chael Sonnen’s phone number on social media. Gilbert Burns’ act didn’t go well with the “Chaos” as Chael Sonnen coached him against Joaquin Buckley, and he wanted to teach Burns a lesson in the Octagon.

“That’s disgusting man, that’s despicable, and that’s not right man. That’s really messed up. Now, he’s getting tons of people calling him with stupid sh*t, saying stupid pranks. It’s a security concern. Gilbert, that was just very immature. What are we in high school dude? Be a grown a** man.”

Colby Covington said

“That’s really messed up Gilbert did that to Uncle Chael, I said, ‘Hey, Uncle Chael, if you want me to handle that inside the octagon, I will get justice for us.  I will get justice on Gilbert’s f**king face.  I will make sure he never shows his face in America ever again because of how badly I beat him.”

Covington continued

Gilbert Burns responded to the call-out by offering date and venue to Colby by sharing Covington’s photos.

“Miami April! Just (sign) the contract! I know you not showing up!,”

Gilbert Burns wrote

Both fighters are on a losing streak. Burns lost three of his last five fights, while Covington faced defeat in two consecutive fights. Despite being in the same weight class for years, the two never crossed paths before. A contest between these two in 2025 will be a great one, and one of the two can say goodbye to fighting after that.
