“It’s only gonna poison me” Israel Adesanya And Old Rival Whittaker Settle Their Differences

Former UFC two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker fought twice in the UFC, and both times, the “Last Stylebender” got the better of the Australian MMA fighter. In the first fight, Israel Adesanya knocked out Whittaker, and after 3 years, the two again crossed paths; this time, the “Reaper” came prepared for the challenge and gave a tough fight to the then-middleweight champ but failed to score on the judge’s scorecard despite doing his best he lost the second fight via unanimous decision.

Since then, the two can’t be said to have bad blood, but they were not on talking terms. In a recent video uploaded by Israel Adesanya on his YouTube channel, the two were seen together sparring and praising each other, indicating that they share a great bond. In fact, Robert Whittaker, who was once targeting a trilogy bout against the former champ, denied fighting for a third time.

“I don’t like to hold on to things. When you hold on to stuff like anger or bitterness or envy or whatever, it just… You think it’s hurting the other person, it’s not, it’s hurting yourself. So after fights are done, people think I’m still salty with certain things. I’m like, bro, why would I hold on to that? Like, for me, it’s only gonna poison me.”
