” I don’t care who it is” Kamaru Usman Replied To Joaquin Buckley’s Call-Out

Former UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has been one of the names mentioned by Joaquin Buckley during his post-fight interview at UFC Tampa. “New Mansa” put on a spectacle against former interim champ Colby Covington, and a 3rd round doctor stoppage made it the 6th straight win of his in the welterweight division. Now, Kamaru Usman gave his response to the call-out and made it clear that he is ready to face anyone once he gets healthy.

On his pound-for-pound podcast, mentioning the call-out, he said that he is not afraid of anyone at 170 lbs.

“I feel like the hot chick at the bar, everybody wants a piece. It’s almost like no one’s listening to what I’m saying. No one’s getting what I’m saying. I don’t care who it is. Shavkat, Belal, Ian, Buckley, ‘JDM’, I don’t care who it is. One thing that I won’t do because I’ve done it for so long and too much, which is partially why I’m having to take this layoff, is compete when I’m not ready. When I am healthy, I don’t care who it is.”

Kamaru Usman has lost two of his previous fights. The last one was against Khamzat Chimaev, as the former stepped in on two weeks’ notice. Though he lost the fight, he gave tough competition to one of the best fighters active in the UFC. Usman also reviewed the UFC Tampa main event and thought that Colby did better in the third round than the initial two rounds, whereas Buckley showed amazing control during the fight.

Everybody knows as the fight gets later, Covington gets a little bit more comfortable. So it was going to be how quick he was able to get the ring rust off and get going and Buckley didn’t really allow him to do that. It looked like there was times it was back-and-forth and it looked liked Covington was coming back… So he didn’t look bad.”
