Max Holloway Thinks Colby Covington “Needs Help” After Latter’s Post Fight Statements

UFC 296 was full of excitement, with two title fights in the main card in the flyweight and welterweight divisions ending the event, plus the heated altercation between the fighters outside the octagon provided the perfect ending to the UFC’s last pay-per-view of 2023. Leon Edwards and Colby Covington fought in the main event, where Leon successfully defended his title against Colby, winning the fight with a unanimous decision. Colby Covington’s comments during the pre-fight conference about Leon Edwards’ father were criticized by many, but Colby clarified his actions, saying that he was doing it for the character he was in and there wasn’t anything personal.

But during the post-fight press conference, he took a complete 360-degree shift, looked unapologetic for his distasteful comments about Rocky’s father, and said:

Why would I have sympathy for a s*x trafficker, someone who has impacted and hurt a lot of people’s lives… No, I don’t feel bad about that at all. Let’s talk about all the victims that he left behind that are surviving the trauma and turmoil that he put these people’s lives through. I don’t feel bad at all. Why would I feel bad for a criminal?”

Leon Edwards’ father was murdered outside a club when “Rocky” was just 13 years old, and as per the welterweight champion, his father was involved in criminal activities due to which that happened. Former featherweight champion Max Holloway criticized Colby for his U-turn on his statements by saying that the chaos needs help.

“This guy is something else. Says he was in character at weigh-ins, then do this. Man really needs help.”
