Dana White said

Umar Nurmagomedov and Bantamweight champ Merab Dvalishvili have been going back and forth since the Georgian captured the title in September at Noche UFC by defeating Sean O’Malley via unanimous decision. Since then, “The Machine” has denied giving a shot to Khabib’s cousin as, according to the champ, he was not worthy of getting a title shot this early and accused Umar of using his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov’s name to get a big fight. Nevertheless, UFC has finalized the fight, and fans would love to see a battle between these two as both are good in their ground game.

Umar Nurmagomedov has an undefeated record so far, with his dominant win over Corey Sandhagen proving that he is as good in striking as in his ground game. On the other hand, Islam Makhachev will fight Arman Tsarukyan for the second time in the UFC. Earlier, Islam Makhachev won a unanimous decision against Tsarukyan, who is spirited to clinch the title this time.
