Tai Tuivasa recognizes wants to fight Sergie Pavlovich again

The heavyweight division fighter Tai Tuivasa fought on UFC Fight Night last December against the rising powerhouse in the heavyweight division, Sergie Pavlovich. The fight lasted only 54 seconds of Round 1, and Tuivasa was knocked out by Sergie Pavlovich with his brutal punches. Tai recently opened up on a podcast about the fight and what he experienced in the octagon against Sergie Pavlovich as the Russian powerhouse didn’t waste too much time to end the fight. Tai praised the Russian for his strong hands and the power he generates from those. He admitted that Sergie is a hard hitter and when he landed the first punch he knew he was going to lose.

Tuivasa tasted defeat in his last two fights, both knockouts. Three months prior to his fight with Sergie, the heavyweight fought Ciryl Gane in Paris and lost by knockout, and then against the Russian in December, he acknowledged that he should have taken more rest after the Gane fight.

“That one, I was maybe a bit rushed,” But I still trained hard. The camp was all right – I was fit. Really, all that fight was down to was who hit who first. And I was obviously trying to hit him first, but he hit me with the first hit and I knew I was f*cked.
Tuivasa said on The Halfcast Podcast.

“He hits you from very far away where you think you’re in that zone, but you’re not, and he is. Obviously, he’s got some heavy hands behind it, and once he smells it, he can smell the blood and he just goes for it. I want him again. I didn’t get to hit him. That’s the heavyweight game. My eyes were like, ‘Where are you? Which one is it?’

Tai Tuivasa is going to fight Alexander Volkov at UFC 293 on Sept. 9 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.
