The newly appointed captain of Inter Miami, Lionel Messi scored 2 goals and gave one assist against Atlanta United, as they thrashed the opposition by a 4-0 scoreline.
It was Messi’s 2nd match for his new club after scoring an amazing free kick in the 94th minute to give the win to his team by a 2-1 score line against Cruz Azul and then showing his magic in the second match after scoring two amazing goals before the half time to once again prove to everyone that why everyone calls him magician of football.
The first goal Messi scored in the 8th minute of the match when his former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets once again gave him an amazing lob pass from the midfield area. He missed his first chance to put the ball inside the net as it struck the goalpost, but on the rebound, he tapped in the football inside it.
The second goal came in the 22nd minute of the match as Messi progressed the play with the ball from the midfield area and gave the pass to Robert Taylor, who passed back to Messi in the penalty area, which Messi converted into a goal. Just as the Atlanta focus was on Messi, mostly Robert Taylor came up with the third goal in the 44th minute of the match, which B. Cremaschi assisted.
Inter Miami ended up 3-0 at the end of the first half, and it was an amazing performance by Messi and especially by Robert Taylor. In the 2nd half Miami team started off quite well and pressured the Atlanta team as they were able to score one more goal to make the lead 4-0 in the 53rd minute after Robert Taylor and Messi once again showed an amazing inter-link play.
The match ended with a 4-0 scoreline, but in the 86 minutes, Atlanta had the best chance to score the goal as they got a penalty but failed to capitalize it because Thiago Almada, the young midfielder, missed it from the spot kick but later after the match he got Messi Jersy.
