India has won the test series against the West Indies by 1-0 as rain rescued the West Indies in the second test match; otherwise, India would have won the last match as well. Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rohit Sharma shined in batting as the three of them recorded a test century to their names. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his maiden international century in his debut test match, and India’s former skipper Virat Kohli scored his 29th test century in the second test, announcing his return to form. This was the moment he and his fans were waiting for, as the right-handed batter scored his red-ball test century away from home after November 2019. Though Virat Kohli has many strengths when it comes to cricket, he was often criticized for his technique while playing an outside off ball and against wrist spinners. Experts labeled it as his weakness that led to his downfall for some years.
West Indies legend Curtly Ambrose thinks otherwise and said that there are phases in a great player’s career where the runs stop coming from their bat, and that is the case with Virat Kohli as well. Curtly Ambrose, being such a legend in cricket, also praised Kohli for his work ethic and admired him for being so consistent off the field in maintaining his fitness while talking to Rev Sports.
“I’ve seen him play for a number of years, and I’ve always admired his way of playing. A lot of people will see the end results because he scores a lot of runs, but behind the scenes, he puts in a lot of work. Whenever he speaks, he thrives a lot on his fitness, his diet, and all that. We see the end product, meaning when he goes out in the middle, but there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Someone I’ve admired, easy to watch, good on the eyes.”
