The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced the squad of the Indian men’s Football Team for the upcoming Asian Games 2023, which is going to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.
After the football fans and the team fought for their chance to play in the Asian Cup 2023, The U-23 Indian Football men’s team is ready to go as Sunil Chhetri, the legend and the captain of the team, ready to give it all alongside young talented players of the team.
There is a rule to participate in any match in the Asian Games for the football event that only three people who are above the age of 23 are allowed to play. Sunil Chhetri, Sandesh Jhingan, and the mighty goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu are the three players who are selected for the Asian Cup 2023.
Indian Football Team is in group A with China, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. Only two teams from the group will reach the Super 8, and India will be one of the favorites to reach win the tournament. Indian Team recently gained a few ranks (99) after winning Inter-continental and SAFF championships.
China is the highest-ranking team in the group, which is 80th, and is also one of the favorites to win the event as they are also the tournament host. It will be hard for Myanmar, which is ranked 160th, and Bangladesh 189th, to reach the Super 8.
