Former India’s captain Sourav Ganguly is not taking the World Cup match between India and Pakistan lightly like some other cricketers who called it just another match as he advised Rohit Sharma and Co. to be fully prepared for the Ahmedabad face off with the arch rival Pakistan on 14th October, 2023. India is going to host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 entirely for the first time and will face Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium to maintain their unbeatable run against Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup matches. Sourav Ganguly not only advised India but Pakistan as well to be prepared to face India in front of the Indian crowd.
Sourav Ganguly admitted that the game has been changed a lot after his tenure as a cricketer was over during his tenure India dominated Pakistan in all ICC events but that has changed in recent years as Pakistan has out performed India and several other big teams in the international events which clearly shows the improvement they did in the recent years and everybody appreciated that, in fact recently Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin gave props to Pakistan for their constant rise in the international cricket as now they are in the top spot of the ICC ODI rankings.
“It is a huge game. Always was and always will be. You have realised how important it is in the context of the World Cup. I used to treat it very much like an India Australia, India South Africa contest. I used to get into the mindset that it is still the red ball or the white ball you are up against and prepare myself like that. You can’t let the occasion get to you because that’s when you tend to lose focus,”.

According to Ganguly India need to focus on gradual steps and analyze where they are lagging rather than thinking for the final that is the mantra for registering victory and reaching the final of the ODI World Cup.
