Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan, after his scintillating knock of 131 runs, was named player of the match for his match-winning innings against Sri Lanka in match number 8 of the ODI World Cup 2023, and no doubt he gathered a lot of praise from the cricket fans for his brilliant knock, but now Mohammad Rizwan is facing heat from the cricket fans due to his social media post where he dedicated his team’s win against Sri Lanka to the “people of Gaza,” where currently a war is happening between the forces of Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group “Hamas,” who were the aggressors in this war.

Amid the tensions in the World Geo-Politics his sympathy on this event was more towards the “People of Gaza” not Israel. Sharing his opinion on social media he said

This was for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Happy to contribute in the win. Credits to the whole team and especially Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for making it easier. Extremely grateful to the people of Hyderabad for the amazing hospitality and support throughout,”

There have been over 1500 deaths in this war between the two countries, and the situation will become much worse in the coming days as Israel is not going to step back. Amid all the tensions, Mohammad Rizwan’s comments on the issue weren’t well received by the cricket fans, and many of them suggested he focus on cricket rather than politics and war. Some fans even went to question the logic behind his comment and how his team’s victory would help the Palestinian people.
